Classroom and Media Equipment

We need your help to purchase equipment for the classrooms, the nuns’ Media Room, and the Tibetan Nuns Project office at Dolma Ling Nunnery and Institute in India. The total amount needed is $8,500. Here are the details.

Classroom Projectors

The over 250 nuns at Dolma Ling need your help to buy two classroom projectors to be shared by the teachers as needed. Their one existing project no longer works properly.

Projectors make learning more engaging and fun and allow teachers to teach in three ways: text, images, and video. Using a chalkboard or whiteboard can be time-consuming and labor-intensive. Projectors are simpler because teachers can create re-useable presentations rather than spending time writing out the lessons on a chalkboard or whiteboard. If a point needs clarification, the teacher can easily return to that slide.

Classroom and Media Equipment for Tibetan Buddhist nuns

Using a project to teach Tibetan is very helpful, but the nunnery’s only projector is broken. The Dolma Ling nuns need your help to buy two more classroom projectors.

Classroom education is a core part of the nuns’ education at Dolma Ling. To ensure a more interactive learning environment, the Tibetan teacher has been using a projector for teaching Tibetan grammar, alphabets, and literature. Unfortunately, the current projector no longer provides clear visuals.

Can you help to buy two projectors to share with all the teachers?

Media Equipment: Computer and Printer

The Media Room at Dolma Ling Nunnery is a powerful place for the nuns to use their voice and creativity to share their news and stories. The nuns in the media room work on documentation, including photography, video recording, and other media-related activities. However, they are struggling with an outdated computer.

Classroom and Media Equipment Needed

Led by two nuns, Venerable Delek Yangdon and Venerable Delek Yangchen, the media section at Dolma Ling has contributed significantly to maintaining a visual record of the nunnery’s activities. It is essential for sharing updates with our supporters.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to use their existing computer for modern media processing tasks. To ensure the continued smooth operation of the Media Room and to enhance the quality of work, the nuns need your help to purchase a new computer equipped with better processing capabilities and software for media-related tasks.

They also need help to buy a printer for identification documents and other materials, further enhancing the administrative capabilities of the Media Room.

● 1 Computer
● Passport size printer
● Magic Mouse
● Magic Keyboard

Office Equipment

Our office in India needs the following equipment: two Magic Mouse, one Magic Keyboard, and one MacBook laptop with AppleCare for the project coordinator to ensure efficient workflow and project management. Additionally, the accounts section needs a new desktop system to run our accounting software. The current computer which has been frequently repaired, is no longer functioning reliably. Upgrading the equipment will significantly enhance productivity and reduce downtime caused by hardware issues.
