Description

Our hardy Gonam (wool fabric) bags are handmade by the Buddhist nuns at Dolma Ling Nunnery in India.

The Apron Fabric design utilizes part of a pangden, a traditional Tibetan apron. These colorful striped Tibetan aprons are worn by married Tibetans as part of their traditional dress.

The Bhutanese Fabric Side and Center Panel bags are made from traditional Bhutanese fabric, adorned with rich embroidered appliques.

The Apron Cross Fabric Center Panel bags feature cross shapes known as cruciform that denote elevated social status as most women’s aprons are composed of simple stripes. This design is considered very prestigious by Tibetans and Bhutanese alike.

Each Gonam bag has a wide, soft, straps, an inner pocket for small valuables and a magnetic clasp. Measures 13.5″ x 12.5″ X 4.5.”
